On the morning of December 20th, the unveiling ceremony of the "5G Remote Clinical Application and R&D Cooperation Center for Surgical Robots" was held at the Third People's Hospital of Liaocheng.
Vice President Xu Changjun presided over the ceremony. Attendees included Ji Haoqing, Vice President of the Liaocheng Family Planning Association; Kong Xiangzhi, Party Secretary of the Third People's Hospital of Liaocheng; Chang Liguo, Deputy Party Secretary and President of the Third People's Hospital of Liaocheng; Xu Changjun, Vice President of the Third People's Hospital of Liaocheng; Hu Sanyuan, President of the Shandong Research Hospital Association; Liu Yu, Executive Vice President and Chief Business Officer of Shanghai MicroPort MedBot (Group) Co., Ltd.; and various clinical experts from the Third People's Hospital of Liaocheng. Vice President Xu Changjun presided over the ceremony.
In his welcome speech, President Chang Liguo stated that the launch of the "5G Remote Clinical Application and R&D Cooperation Center for Surgical Robots" will provide doctors with a professional training and communication platform, promote the widespread application of surgical robot technology in clinical practice, and contribute to the development of minimally invasive medical care as part of the national strategy for scientific and educational development and a healthy China.
Professor Hu Sanyuan from Qilu Hospital delivered a speech and shared insights on the development trends of advanced surgical robots. He mentioned that laparoscopic technology has evolved over 30 years and has transitioned from infancy to adolescence. When asked about the future development of laparoscopy in the next 20 to 30 years, the answer undoubtedly lies in the era of surgical robots. Surgical robots transform conventional laparoscopic surgery from two-dimensional to three-dimensional, enabling more complex surgical procedures. Currently, the field of surgical robots is dominated by foreign technologies, and the challenge lies in applying high-end medical devices to the general public. MedBot® has overcome some difficulties through practical actions, successfully developed and commercialized Toumai®, achieving true domestication of robotic technology. The goal is to enable more doctors to master robotic surgery techniques, making surgeries simpler and safer, and benefiting more people.
Mr. Liu Yu, Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer of MedBot®, mentioned that the establishment and official use of the first Chinese-developed surgical robot in Liaocheng's Third People's Hospital is a significant event for the development of healthcare in Liaocheng. MedBot® will collaborate with the hospital in the clinical application, technological research and development, talent cultivation, and academic exchange of surgical robots, exploring their applications in various fields such as urology, general surgery, thoracic surgery, and gynecology. MedBot® will continue to innovate and optimize technology, providing more precise, safer, and more effective treatment solutions for patients, realizing the vision of " Making surgery easier, safer and less invasive.," and making greater contributions to the medical technology innovation and improvement of medical services in Liaocheng and Shandong Province.
Following the unveiling ceremony, Ji Haoqing, Kong Xiangzhi, Chang Liguo, Xu Changjun, Hu Sanyuan, and Liu Yu jointly unveiled the "5G Remote Clinical Application and R&D Cooperation Center for Surgical Robots." The operation of this R&D cooperation center signifies a solid step forward for the Third People's Hospital of Liaocheng in the field of medical technology and will further enhance the hospital's academic influence and the level of medical services.
After the ceremony, hospital leaders, clinical experts, and attendees at the event had a close experience of the technological charm of Toumai®. Many medical professionals personally operated the robot system, experiencing the high-definition vision and precise operation of the robotic surgery system.
As medical technology advances, the demand for precision health increases. Therefore, the requirements for minimally invasive surgical equipment are becoming more stringent. The emergence and maturity of the Toumai® four-arm laparoscopic surgical robot have greatly improved the indications and surgical quality of minimally invasive surgery. Surgical robots allow doctors to overcome the limitations of human hands, eyes, and space, ushering in a new era of precision medicine.
