■ The 100th operation of the clinical trial project was completed with the assistance of Honghu, symbolizing the successful completion of the patient enrollment of the project.

■ Honghu has been independently designed and developed by China and has become the first domestic robot for total knee replacement to complete the multi-center clinical trial before marketization.

On January 15, 2021, the 100th operation of the clinical trial project has been completed by the Honghu Orthopedic Surgical Robot (hereinafter referred to as "Honghu") completely independently developed by Suzhou MicroPort® OrthoBot Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "MicroPort® OrthoBot"), a robotics-specialized subsidiary of Shanghai Microport® Medbot (Group) Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Microport® Medbot"), symbolizing the successful completion of the case enrollment task of the project. The clinical trial center includes: the team of Professor Li Huiwu from the Department of Orthopedic of the Ninth People's Hospital affiliated to Shanghai Jiao Tong University (initiating unit), the team of Professor Yang Liu from the Department of Joint Surgery of Southwest Hospital of Army Medical University, the team of Professor Huang Wei from the Department of Orthopedic of the First Affiliated Hospital of Chongqing Medical University, the team of Professor Zhang Haining from the Department of Joint Surgery of Qingdao University Affiliated Hospital and the team of Professor Xu Qiang from the Department of Joint Surgery of Yantai Yuhuangding Hospital. ■ Honghu has so far been independently designed and developed by China and has become the first domestic robot for total knee replacement to complete the multi-center clinical trial before marketization.

Honghu Orthopedic Surgical Robot is a surgical robot for assisting in total knee replacements. Its preoperative planning system is based on the preoperative CT scanning data and prosthesis model data and generates the personalized prosthesis implantation operation program according to the anatomical characteristics of the lower limbs of patient. During the operation, the accurate osteotomy positioning based on the surgical planning can be achieved by using the registration technology and the independently developed high dexterity and lightweight mechanical arm, which can quickly assist the completion of osteotomy and improve the accuracy and efficiency of operation. The system can skip the positioning of medullary cavity in traditional surgery, reduce the injury of patient, improve the postoperative force line of lower limbs, minimize the surgical complications, and help patients recover faster after surgery.

Ms. Yu Haiying, General Manager of MicroPort® OrthoBot, said: "MicroPort® OrthoBot has proceeded from the clinical needs of orthopedic surgery, been focusing on the basic research and development in the field of orthopedic surgery robots and the industrialization of high-end medical devices, connecting with the top domestic medical resources, combining with the accumulated advantages of its technology market in the field of orthopedics, and adopting a lean research and development model for continuous iteration. We will continue to devote ourselves to developing the minimal-invasion, accurate and efficient orthopedic surgery robot products to fill up the gap in China's orthopedic surgery robot industry. "

Dr. He Chao, President of Microport® Medbot, said: "The Honghu Orthopedic Surgical Robot completed 100 clinical trial operations successfully. This has fully demonstrated the technical advantages and core competitiveness of the Microport® Medbot Group in the field of medical robots. As a leader in high-end innovative medical solutions in the field of surgical robots, we will continue to enhance our cooperation with clinical centers in various disciplines across the country, develop and devote ourselves to product design, research and development, and application development, so as to provide more patients and doctors with the generalized integrated intelligent surgical solutions."
