Nanchang, China - November 18, 2021: Toumai®, a self-developed robotic surgical system by Shanghai MicroPort MedBot (Group) Co., Ltd. (referred to as "MicroPort® MedBot®"), was successfully used by Professor Liping Cai, Director of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the First Affiliated Hospital of Nanchang University, and her team to complete the first Chinese-developed four-arm robotic-assisted total hysterectomy with bilateral adnexectomy, with minimal intraoperative bleeding. The success of this clinical surgery signifies that Toumai® has become the first Chinese-developed surgical robot to cover all departments in the fields of gynecology, urology, thoracic surgery, hepatobiliary surgery, and gastrointestinal surgery in the chest, abdomen, and pelvic areas.

Mr. Yu Liu,  Chief Commercial Officer of MicroPort® MedBot®, expressed his gratitude to Professor Liping Cai, Director of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the First Affiliated Hospital of Nanchang University, and her team for successfully completing complex gynecological surgery using the Toumai® Laparoscopic Surgical Robot. The initiation of this clinical surgery indicates that our clinical trials have comprehensively covered the fields of gynecology, urology, thoracic surgery, hepatobiliary surgery, and gastrointestinal surgery.
