Shanghai, China - November 23, 2021, on the first day of clinical trial project of Shanghai Chest Hospital with the Chinese-developed Toumai® Laparoscopic Surgical Robot (hereinafter referred to as “Toumai®”) from Shanghai MicroPort MedBot (Group) Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “MicroPort® MedBot®”), four enrolled procedures (robotic-assisted thoracic surgery, RATS) were successfully completed by Professor Luo Qingquan, a well-known chest surgery expert and his team. The excellent surgical skills of Professor Luo and the excellent performance of the Toumai® were perfectly combined. The surgical procedure was smooth, and the surgical procedures such as freeing of blood vessel, lymph node dissection and lobectomy were successfully completed. The minimum operating time of the surgeon was 48 minutes.
Professor Luo Qingquan commented after the surgeries: “During operations, Toumai® showed stable and safe performance, flexible operation in thoracic cavity, high restoration of 3D surgical field, and operation experience comparable to the similar import products. We look forward to the launch of Chinese-developed Toumai® to benefit more patients.”
